Chapter Two

My Adolescent and Early School Years

About my early school years

I went to Overbrook Elementary School.

Mrs Baker, Mrs Gloss
Art/Drawing and painting, PE-Physical Education

What I enjoyed the most (and least) about school

Enjoyed the small town school where it was easy to know most everyone and become great friends with so many. And loved lunch and recess time!

My best friend(s) growing up

Had several "best friends" but if I had to name one that I spent the most time with, that would be Todd Beckman.
I remember riding bicycles around town and spending time at each others houses all the time.

Childhood illness

I was told that I had asthma as a child, but don't really remember too many issues with it. I do recall feeling like it was hard to breath sometimes when it was really hot and dry outside running and playing in the summer heat.

After school

I would sometimes go to a babysitter in town, early on it was at the Friesen's house and then the White's house.
As I got older I would ride the bus home, but sometimes got to go home with a friend which was always fun.

Early summer vacations

In my younger "summer days", I spent a lot of time with friends like Jagger, Todd, Brady, Brian, Ralph, Jeff, Kyle, Brant or Doug to name a few. Starting around my fifth grade summer, my brother started helping my Dad on construction sites. I was mostly considered a "Gofer", I would go-for "this" and go-for "that" helping the crew save steps on the job-site. And cleaning up materials and tools at the end of each day, made for long hot days!
